In December 2016, the South African Sports Medicine Association of South Africa (SASMA), approached us to build a new website to refresh their online image as well as create a new and improved way for their existing members to interact with the organisation online. The redesign also needed to simplify the way new members could register to become a member of SASMA.
To help SASMA reach their goals, we looked at local and international sports medicine associations and devised a website we believed would align themselves with the best in the world and help in gaining new memberships as a result.
SAMSA, being a volunteer organisation, had very little branding or photography to use, so with that in mind we had to create a minimalist look and feel and devise a colour palette to create a fresh and consistent branding.
Once the look and feel was defined and the information rewritten and reorganised, we set out to build the new SASMA website and made it an interactive membership site with members managing their own account details, directory listing and billing details on the website.
The membership system integrated with the website has significantly reduced the effort required by the SASMA volunteers to get members signed up and managed. With members managing their own details and billing reminders being sent automatically, the management of SASMA are now able to focus on converting more sports medical professionals into paying members.
